Evangelist Billy Graham left this life to meet his wonderful Savior face to face on February 21, 2018. He was 99 years old and had faithfully preached the gospel since the 1940s, when he began his public ministry at the age of 21. In his lifetime he reached more than 250 million people and helped more than 3 million of them come to know Jesus personally.

This modern-day apostle was a faithful, hardworking messenger of God, proclaiming the good news of the love of Jesus throughout the world by every means possible. Having turned many to righteousness, the Bible has promised that he will be rewarded and will “shine as the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3).

When asked in a 1992 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC what he would like people to say about him after his death, Billy Graham replied, “I don’t want them to say big things about me because I don’t deserve them. I want to hear one Person say something nice about me, and that’s the Lord. When I face Him, I want Him to say to me, ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant.’”

We pray that the many loved ones and friends he left behind will be comforted. May we all follow in his footsteps, for the sake of the many lost and needy of the world.
